How savers view cash

We surveyed 4,360 UK savers and 93 financial advisers on why cash is held, how savers think about it and where the opportunity is for advisers.

This report examines the largest asset held by British households outside of their homes. It's also the asset that advisers are least likely to have full visibility over.

76% of savers said earning a competitive rate was a "very important" part of their wealth strategy and 85% think about their cash at least monthly. However, only 11.4% prioritised instant access unconditionally and 48% would switch for a better rate if access were preserved.

The average easy access account pays 2.49% against best buys near 4.77% (September 2026).

There is a huge opportunity for you to add value to your clients' savings strategies.

Testimonials

Before Insignis, we accepted a lower rate of interest with incumbent banks due to the time and resource needed to set up new accounts. This was considerable given the interest rate volatility we are seeing in the market. Signing up with Insignis Cash has done away with all of that for a modest fee. We are happy with the service provided and would gladly recommend Insignis to other companies like us.
